Bedside lamp from the Invider family, shaped by hand in France from recycled newspapers, plaster and plant-based glue. Thirty centimetres tall, with a reflector that turns the light downwards.
Specifications
In detail
Sista is the smallest of the Invider, and one of the family’s two “feminine” lamps along with Mom: more slender, moulded from the inside. The hand goes into the mould to lay the paste, which gives a thin, even wall.
The reflector, open underneath, sends the light down to the bedside table rather than into your eyes. Switched off, it keeps the presence of a sculpture.
Once dry, the piece is sanded to bring out the grain of the paper, then finished with beeswax. No two Sista are ever quite alike.
G9 socket, crystal cord of about 1.5 m. Supplied with its LED bulb (10 W maximum, LED only).

Hand-applied
Applied by hand, layer after layer.
The pulp is pressed into an open mould by hand, in several passes. The thickness is never quite the same from one piece to the next, and the surface keeps the trace of the hand. It is slower, and it is what makes each piece recognisable.
